2013 KTM Duke 350
Bajaj Auto holds over 40% stake in Austrian motorcycle maker KTM, and this stake has brought forth many synergies. One such synergy is the recently launched KTM Duke 200 streetfighter motorcycle and already has Indian motorcyclists drooling at the thought of reaching here soon. Even as the Duke 200 captivates enthusiasts’ hearts with a delectable blend of performance, handling and affordability, Bajaj Auto and KTM are already setting their sights on something much bigger, and we hope, much better. Early 2013 will herald the KTM Duke 350, a 350cc variant of the Duke 200. Styling is expected to be similar. I they do successfully produce a 35bhp-30 Nm motorcycle that weighs under 140kgs, they would have managed to break into an untapped segment with vast potential. In true Bajaj tradition, expect the Duke 350 to be launched at under Rs 2 lakhs.
Our friends over at IndianCarsBikes.in were in attendance at the KTM 200 Duke launch in India this week, as the Austrian brand launched its somewhat bigger-displacement version of the popular KTM Duke 125. During the press event, KTM talked about the future of the mini-Duke line and its product roadmap for the emerging country, as well as abroad. With the Austrian brand confirming/clarifying that KTM would release a KTM 350 Duke for India in 2013, zie Austrians also confirmed that the KTM 350 Duke would be built locally in India by Bajaj, but would be exported worldwide — allaying fears that the KTM 350 Duke would be an India-only model.
Confirming the information learned from the leaked PowerPoint slide that was taken from the KTM North America dealers’ meeting, it is also expected that the KTM 350 Duke will be a bored-out version of the KTM 200 Duke. This news of course should excite American motorcyclists, who have been eagerly and patiently awaiting a larger version of the KTM 125 Duke to hit US soil. Equally exciting has been the news that KTM would release a fully-faired sport bike in the 350cc format.
Aptly called the Moto3 350 for now, it is expected that this model will take its styling from KTM’s Moto3 project, and will essentially be a fully-faired version of the KTM 350 Duke. Confirming at the launch that the KTM Moto 350 would be built in India, and be available worldwide in 2014, KTM could give the small-displacement sport bike market a serious run for its money if they can price the model competitively against the Kawasaki Ninja 250R and Honda CBR250R.
It seems like it will be festive time for all motorcycle enthusiasts in 2013. in addition to the bulk of new bikes that are to be introduced in 2013, here is another confirmed. A monster by its nature, raw power and performance. Yes it’s the KTM Duke 350 that is all set to be launched in 2013. Joining hands with the Bajaj has turned out to be a major milestone in the Duke’s history. The introduction of the KTM Duke 200 alongside the Pulsar 200 ns gave a chance for KTM to set its foot on the Indian market. Now that Bajaj has officially announced the release of the all new Bajaj pulsar 350 ns in 2013, KTM has also announced that it will be introducing the KTM Duke 350 in 2013.
Duke motorcycles are known for their raw performance with the 200 cc producing a power of 23 Bhp. Now you can imagine how much powerful the new Duke 350 would be. Dukes are known for their naked design and it seems like Bajaj is taking some elements from their design too. But the coordination between the two companies seems to be helpful to both the companies. The Austrian company has officially announced that KTM 350 Duke would be built locally in India by Bajaj, but would be exported worldwide — allaying fears that the KTM 350 Duke would be an India-only model. KTM is also planning to introduce a 650 cc version along with the 350 cc version to compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 650 R.
The expected specifications of the new KTM Duke 350 have been discussed below.
The KTM has always been focussing on naked designs and the KTM Duke 350 will also be a naked bike similar to its little brother the KTM Duke 200. The exposed engines and the underside fuel exhaust gives the bike a stunning look, and all in all the bikes look stable and rigid

4. Price and mileage
Its true that 350 cc bikes are never mend for mileage. but KTM promises that the Duke 350 will be delivering a mileage of 25km/ltr. Although this seems to be a little boasted mileage, you can bet on something around the 20 Km/ltr mark for the new KTM Duke 350.
